72 HOUR B.O.B
CHALLENGE ~ Week 4
A 72 Hour Bug Out Bag is a disaster supply bag that has everything you would need for your family's survival during a 3 day evacuation away from home. Each person in your family or group should have a 72 Hour BOB. Once you are satisfied with what is in your BOB, make sure to update it every three months to make sure all food, water, and medication are fresh (not expired), check if your clothing still fit you and change them as the seasons change, personal documents are up to date, and batteries are charged.
If you have small children, don't forget their favorite toys and games. It will be very important to keep them busy and provide some comfort and entertainment during a stressful time. Older children can be responsible for their own pack of items/clothes too.
When packing your BOB's, do not pack glass because it could break. We suggest packing with Zip Bags, Mylar bags, or plastic containers. Below is a list of suggested items to store in your 72-hour kit to help you be prepared for emergencies or disasters. This will get you started. Customize the items to fit your needs and environment.
