Week - 51
The Final Word of 2022

Here we are at the end of the year. I don't know about you but it has been an adventure to say the least.  Our world has changed and we have chosen to embrace the change by joining the Preparedness Movement to prepare our lives by taking on preparedness challenges. The challenges at deCamp Outdoors were not perfect. Myself and Eve communicated online to create the weekly posts. We are states apart but we try our best to guide you into critical thinking when preparing yourself and your family for emergencies and or disasters. Congratulations! You are a prepper.

Some of you were previous nay-sayers who said we were crazy. You were exactly the people we wanted to join in on these challenges. Welcome, we are glad you found us.

Now, let's back up a little bit. Hi! I'm Afrovalist. The creator and founder of deCamp Outdoors (A preparedness camp for city folks). deCamp was supposed to be an actual camp for adults who wanted to experience living in an environment that they may not have been comfortable in. It was to entice people who live in metropolitan cities to try something new by removing themselves from the concrete jungle and decamp to a weekend location. This was going to prepare the campers for evacuation out of the city and learn to survive in an outdoor space.

The meaning of decamp is to leave suddenly or secretly without the knowledge of others.  I wanted to take it to another level by creating an outdoor learning adventure for adults but C19 squashed that idea in 2020. My goal is still on the books to have an in-person event planned to be in the near future.

I would like you to experience what life could be like when you have to survive in a time of devastation but are prepped and have more survival knowledge.

What you may not know is I am living the deCamp Outdoors experience. In 2021, I decided to sell my house of 20 years, I retired from my job as the Incident Commander for the state of Oregon Radiological Emergency Response Team, and moved to my off-grid, undeveloped homestead March 2022.

As this year comes to a close, I would like to encourage you to continue your preparedness and share your knowledge.

Next year, we are going to do something different. Beginning January 2023, we will have monthly challenges instead of weekly challenges. We will offer you activities to complete for your personal or family Preparedness Action Plan.

The collapse has begun! Food shortages, inflation, high fuel prices, and many, many more things that we were not expecting to happen over the year. The supply chain has been broken for the last 2 years and that is when the dominos started to fall.  We are so proud of those who have their eyes wide open and are taking security measures to not fall off the cliff that the government has created.

We are not Sheeple. We are not easily led. We create our own path to succeed and survive. Continue to stand strong, protect what is yours and stay prepared.

There will not be a post next Saturday enjoy the holidays!

See you next year!
